International Collaborations

The UNAA-UK Foundation actively facilitates and nurtures international collaborations between the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and leading universities in the United Kingdom. These partnerships are designed to enhance academic excellence through the exchange of teaching and research personnel, joint development of learning and teaching programmes leading to recognised awards, student exchange schemes, and collaborative research initiatives.

Our collaborative efforts are coordinated through dedicated offices at both institutions, ensuring smooth implementation and mutual benefit. By fostering such international partnerships, we aim to enrich educational experiences, broaden research capacities, and open pathways for global academic engagement.

Current Collaborations

  • University of Northampton

In partnership with the University of Northampton, we have successfully facilitated the establishment of the Leather Training Centre at UNN and the Leather Development Centre in Aba, Abia State. This ongoing collaboration focuses on skills development, vocational training, and industry engagement, helping to empower local communities and stimulate economic growth.

  • University of Nottingham

Through collaboration with the University of Nottingham’s School of Chemistry, significant donations of scientific equipment and research books have been made to the Department of Biochemistry at UNN. These valuable resources have greatly enhanced both the research capabilities and learning environment within the department, contributing to improved academic outcomes and innovation.

Looking Ahead

We continue to explore new opportunities for collaboration at the programme and course levels, seeking to expand student exchange opportunities and foster joint research projects. These international partnerships are pivotal in maintaining UNN’s global academic standing and ensuring students and staff benefit from the latest developments in their fields.
