Currently, the Foundation is actively driving two major projects: the Disability Support Initiative (DSI) and the Reverse Brain Drain (RBD) Project.
- Disability Support Initiative (DSI): Focused on providing reasonable and practical support to disabled students at UNN, the DSI works to reduce the impact of disabilities on their academic and social experiences, empowering these students to succeed and participate fully in university life.
- Reverse Brain Drain (RBD): This initiative mobilises alumni and partners to bring human and material resources back to UNN. Through knowledge transfer, seminars, and collaborative exchanges between UK-based experts and the university community, RBD strengthens academic excellence and promotes sustainable development.
Your Donations at Work
Contributions to the Foundation directly support these vital projects and other emerging needs identified in partnership with the university. Funds are applied towards:
- Grants, Scholarships, and Educational Facilities
Providing financial aid to deserving students, supporting disabled students with specialist equipment such as mobility aids (wheelchairs), visual impairment software (e.g., Fusion), induction loop systems, hearing aids, and other assistive technologies.
- Knowledge and Information Sharing
Sponsoring logistics for lectures, presentations, seminars, and conferences facilitated by resource persons from the UK and beyond. These events enrich students’ learning and broaden their academic horizons.
- Internship Programmes
Facilitating placements for students in well-equipped organisations, enabling them to gain crucial hands-on experience to prepare for their professional careers.
- Educational Resources
Collaborating with institutions, particularly in the UK, to provide textbooks, scientific equipment, and other learning materials to university libraries and resource centres — expanding access to quality educational tools.
- Operational Costs
Supporting essential expenses such as conferences, meetings, legal and administrative fees, accounting services, office supplies, and printing or publishing costs that enable the Foundation to operate efficiently and transparently.
